Exploring knowledge mobilisation

This event tied in with a visit from a small delegation from the Danish National Centre for Social Research (http://en.sfi.dk/). The purpose of the visit was to develop some discussions around Knowledge Mobilisation (KM), drawing in part on some recently completed research work by the RURU team: https://www.journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/hsdr/hsdr03270/#/abstract

Short presentations from different fields were used to provoke reflection and open up discussions:

  • Huw Davies, University of St Andrews – Archetypes of Knowledge Mobilisation: an inductive account of agency practices
  • The Danish National Centre for Social Research – Mobilising social research in Denmark: what do we know, and what do we need to know?
  • Lesley Wye, University of Bristol – Collaboration and compromise in coproducing an evaluation
  • Vicky Ward, University of Leeds – “All action, no talk”: mobilising knowledge in the NHS
  • Laura Meagher, Technology Development Group – The richly textured mechanisms of impact
  • Pippa Coutts, NESTA – ‘Using Evidence: What Works?’, a brief introduction to an Alliance For Useful Evidence publication
  • Ann Wales, ‘NHS Education for Scotland and Scottish Government – Knowledge into Action for Scotland’s Health & Social services
